Sunshine Digital Photography Breaks in the Algarve - Portugal

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Amateur, freelance or professional photographers wanting to learn "real world" digital imaging first hand from a seasoned, and highly qualified professional.

PREREQUISITES

Course Delegates should be comfortable in the use of their own traditional or digital cameras and have at least a working knowledge of computers - Mac or PC.

THE WEEK AT A GLANCE

A unique blend of "hands on" practical studio and location photography and classroom based computer work.

Delegates will be able to undertake various specific "assignments" themselves (under individual coaching) and then use their own images in the classroom "post production" sessions.

You'll get a valuable "over the shoulder" view as you learn how a top professional handles a range of typical assignments.

And you'll also receive a multitude of professional tips and learn techniques that alone, should ensure a healthy return on your investment in the course.

Learn in a relaxed, friendly way in the company of fellow enthusiasts and, after a truly memorable week, go home inspired and ready to take your photography to new found heights!

BRING YOUR OWN DIGITAL IMAGING EQUIPMENT

The courses are intensive digital imaging workshops, so bring your cameras and related equipment.

Some studio and location lighting will be available and classroom computers will be provided on some days. But bring your own portable flash a tripod and laptop computer if you have one.

Delegates using traditional film cameras, but who are considering the move to digital capture should also bring their own equipment.

NON PARTICIPATING PARTNERS

Partners of delegates are welcome; indeed we actively encourage this! And it was one of the reasons we opted for a full seven day break.

No need for them to stay at home or attend, only to find they become a photography "widow" or widower"! You can make this a real joint winter sun break!

This series of workshops is designed to offer a unique blend of serious digital imaging instruction and practical "hands on" experience with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing winter sun break at a top class hotel.

Course Outline

Each course program therefore consists of a seven day break, but with a mid week "free day", giving delegates the opportunity to see something of the surrounding area, practice their new found skills or simply take break.

Unlike so many other photographic courses, all those run by Prophoto Academy, concentrate on digital imaging from a mainly professional, business or freelance point of view. The subjects covered are wide ranging, but throughout, they are all designed to offer real practical help to the aspiring amateur, freelance or professional photographer.

Each course will include a mixture of studio and location photography, together with classroom work on all aspects of digital imaging such as Photoshop tips and techniques, RAW file conversion and efficient workflow, digital printing, on-line proofing and delivery of images to clients and finally, archiving and digital asset management. Having an on-line presence is essential these days and so we will also be taking a look at web site design and construction.

Tutors

Helping me on all of these courses will be Tony Purbrook, a long term resident of the Algarve and a respected freelance photographer who specialises in stock pictures of the area. You'll find examples of Tony's work on his own website www.algarveimages.com

Hotel & Accommodation

Our venue throughout the series, is the superb four star Hotel Garbe, situated in one of the most popular regions of the Algarve and offering excellent facilities.
